06/30/2006: "Ft Meade Dedication"
I received a letter and some photos from Jim Shine. He was at the dedication of the Ft. Meade MWD Facility, on June 28th, that was named after Gordon L. Currier Jr and his dog Satch. His letter as follows:
On June 28, 2006 I attended the dedication ceremony of the Gordon L Currier Jr and his working dog Satch kennels at Ft Meade, Maryland .We had various members from the 212th MP Co and one Scout dog handler present for the ceremony. It was an honor to meet Mr. Gordon Currier Sr and Gordon’s brother Joe. With all the rain that thay had during the week, the sun came out and the dedication went well. Sgt Benansky the kennel master and the members of the 241st Military Police Detachment MWD did a great job. Speaking at the dedication were various members of Ft Meade Col McCreedy, Installation Commander, Col Claudio, Military District of Washington, Chief of Staff & Provost Marshal... I know that if Gordon and Satch were looking down on the ceremony that thay were proud to know that thay were not forgotten.
