01/16/2016: "Care Packages"
I thought you all would like to know about this site.
Gary,
I volunteer at this organization in my home town of Simi, Ca. They pack and send care packages to service people preferably in conflict areas. Their website http://www.forthetroops.org/ gives all the information. At the bottom of the page is a link to request a package be sent to someone or group (company). I thought it would be neat to send some packages to current dog handlers and was told they have a special package that would include treats/toys for the dogs. Not sure how to get the info for those on duty now but if any of our group can help, it would be great.
I was in Pleiku 65 to 66 with Fritz 145X and did receive a package or two from home but many guys didn't. We all know how much it means to be remembered while over there where ever that would be.
The recipient doesn't have to be a dog handler as these packages go to male or female soldiers with any MOS. I'm sure we all know of someone a package could be sent to, or a large box to a squad or company.
Maybe you could get this info out to the guys and families.
Thanks,
Ed Waas
