Maurice Paul “Butch” Schulte, 69, Union, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at his home.
Butch was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Washington, the son of Albert Schulte and wife Loraine, nee Parmentier. Butch received his education at Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in 1965. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from Oct. 26, 1966, until July 28, 1968. Butch was united in marriage to Deborah Billings in 1969, in Union. He was the owner and operator of Schulte’s Bakery in Union for over 25 years. He was employed with Strubberg Hardware since 2000.
He is survived by two daughters, Bridget Callahan and husband Joe, and Wendy Rigdon, all of Union; six grandchildren, Curtis, Brad, Andrew, Aine, Liam and Roan; two sisters, Colette Breeden, Union, and Bernadette Stack, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Dennis Schulte and wife Rebecca, Houston, Texas, and Mark Schulte and wife Beth, Olathe, Kan.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Kenneth, Michael and Norbert.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Union Senior Center.
Memorials may be given to the Franklin County Honor Flight or the D.A.V.
